Why do I go to a matchmaker ? I am a strong, successful woman which apparently is a “turn off” for most men here who would rather date my secretary... In such an environment, finding a husband becomes a major project, and as such, one needs help. I figure the matchmakers do it professionally, full time and on purpose, sure beats me trying to do it half heartedly, part time by chance... and I was right. After 6 months of serial dating in HK - a rather frustrating experience, HK Matchmakers sent me on an overseas matching trip to LA... The rest is history. My only regret ? I should have listened a lot earlier and gone a lot sooner... :)

I am fortunate in the sense that I have never had much problem meeting men. I only had problem finding and keeping the right ones. Looking back, I have wasted so much time with deadbeats and losers that is why I like HK Matchmakers’ mandatory Background Checks…It saves me a lot of time and grief. The Date Coaching is useful too, they help me put things in the right perspectives. The best part was undoubtedly the overseas matching…I love those trips. If I had known what I know now, I would have signed on the Standard Plan C - a 3 trip package instead of of the 1 trip package.

I am glad to admit that I was a client of Hong Kong Matchmakers and I’ve found my husband through them. I used to live in a fairly confined world of my own - I had my work, my hobbies and a small circle of friends and it was difficult to venture outside this box. Many dating agencies and matchmakers in Hong Kong do not take women over the age of 45. HK Matchmakers helped me regain my self confidence. They could not find me a man in Hong Kong, because my age is a problem I suppose... but they found me someone from San Francisco. They helped us nurture our long distance relationship by encouraging emails, skype, text messages, and mutual visits. To make a long story short, Dave is relocating here in Nov. This could not have happened without their help. I feel blessed and am truly thankful.

In a world that condones same sex marriage & surrogate mothers…should I be embarrassed about going to a matchmaker? Heck, no ! not at all. People who sneer & snicker think they have all the answers when they don’t even know the questions. No, I am not ashamed to admit that I was a client of HK Matchmakers. On the contrary, I am very glad I did, and sincerely hope that by sharing my personal experience openly, many more people will muster up enough courage to do so, & find happiness the way I have.

Somebody gave me a copy of the book “How To Find A Husband” written by Mei Ling Ng Liu, at first I thought it was a silly book, turned out it was great and I enjoyed it tremendously . I went on to become a client of HK Matchmakers and have never looked back since. I’ve met a number of interesting men through them, and although I am still not married yet, I am in a relationship now. Frank and I have been going steady for nine months, and I have found happiness I never knew before. I hope you do too.
